If we are doing the For Rent Method, why are we contacting For Sale By Owner ads?

Even though Joe calls it the For Rent Method, the name probably needs to be updated.

​When we first started doing it, we were calling from newspapers from the For Rent ads.

​When we started using Craigslist, the the rentals were under the Apts/Housing category and included Real Estate Agents, so we tried the For Sale Buy Owner section, since it did not include Agents.

​(It is best, especially when first starting out, to avoid talking with agents and only talk with homeowners.)

​We found that the the owners who were trying to sell were more open than landlords to the possibility of selling Rent To Own since they already were trying to sell. Landlords usually have the mindset of wanting to keep the property.
